An Ancestral Mayan Tradition

Cacao ceremonies have actually been around for thousands of years, originating all the way back to Mayan and Aztec traditions in Central and South America, used for spiritual, medicinal and ceremonial purposes for inner awakening and creative guidance.

Cacao was cultivated by Mayas more than 2,500 years ago. Aztecs learned from Mayas how to cultivate and prepare it, they called Cacao “Cacahuatl” and the bitter drink that they obtained from his fruits “Xocolatl”. This drink was consumed just by Emperor and Nobility and is called Kakaw in Mayan Language that means “Drink of the Gods”.Our Ceremonies

During Ceremony, we explain how natural Cacao is disappearing leaving space to industrial Cocoa, that most of the time is the only kind of Cacao that people know. Kakaw prepared with this Ancestral Mayan Recepy is a Medicine for us.

Medicinal Cacao is useful for many things but first of all to avoid Depression and Sadness – when you drink Kakao you will be thankful for Life.

It is very important to set an intention to work on during the Ceremony, Cacao will help us reach our feelings and emotions easily, as it will increase our connection between Heart and Mind (it stimulates the Thymus gland, on top of our Heart, and the Pituitary and Pineal gland in our brain.) It will make easier to feel, think and express the same, in order to better understand our emotions and create easily the reality that we want.

Because of the way the theobromine significantly increases blood flow, people often experience a heart-opening sensation after drinking cacao. “It’s easier to feel filled up with love, or open and connected to other people.

To honor this sacred plant, we will hold a circle of intention setting, blessings, and medicine songs. Together we will enjoy the physical, energetic, and emotional benefits of this divine food and medicine.
